common problems of a car DVD player

The modern technology has changed the different sector in the market including the automobile industry. Most of the cars today are not just about the sleek design, lavish exterior, spacious and comfortable interior. Even the car’s electronics and accessories industry has also leveled up to provide more advanced and beneficial devices.

One of the best inventions this industry has created is the car DVD player. The device is integrated with the latest programs to enhance the user’s safety and driving experience aside from offering entertainment. However like any other device the DVD player for cars can sometimes run into technical problems. Here are some of the common issues and fix for your car DVD player.

Disc Skips or Won’t Play
Before loading any discs to your car DVD player make sure you clean the bottom side properly with a lint-free cloth. Also, you need to make sure the disc is in good condition with no dents or scratches to prevent damaging your player.

Running on rough roads that create vibrations or bumps can cause the disc to skip or prevent it from playing smoothly. Although the adjustments can be done within the player, having a good suspension is one of the best methods to reduce this. Sometimes it could be the disc that’s having problems the user can try playing other discs to isolate the issue further.

Disc Doesn't Play Consistently
After checking thoroughly the physical condition of the disc, there are some cases that the movies won’t still play consistently. For some reason the subtitles can cause the movie to play improperly. Turning off the subtitle will make it work and ensuring the brightness or contrast of the car DVD player is at normal levels will also do the trick.

Display Drop-Down
If the DVD player for your car has a drop-down monitor but it doesn't work as it should be, the fuse might have blown. Replacing the fuse usually the fix but sometimes the car’s battery can be the culprit when it’s not able to supply the device with enough power. Turning the car off and back on can fix this issue.
If still this doesn't work, another probable cause is the wiring of the car DVD player. This is usually the case when the device was installed after market and the wires got disconnected or unraveled. Check the wiring once in a while to ensure its functionality.
