How to fix your car DVD player

Aside from the sleek and luxurious designs of the modern cars, the accessories and electronics industry for automobiles has also evolved over the years. One of the best amusement technologies created for cars is the car DVD player.  Aside from the entertainment, it is also integrated with a GPS technology which is one of the useful features of the DVD players in cars. 

Travelling has never been fun and exciting without a DVD player integrated with a GPS navigator. It’s a great device to keep everyone occupied and finding the best routes to reach the destination in time. It’s inevitable to encounter issues every now and then but it’s good to know that there are things you can fix on your end without even calling a technical support. 

Roads Disappear

When you’re travelling and you start seeing a blue or green space without any marked roads it means your GPS is outdated. This usually occurs when the route you’re taking is not in the GPS since it was not yet inputted or it was built after the map was last updated. Any car DVD player integrated with GPS can be updated through USB’s or a card reader. This is one common issue that most users encounter which can be resolved by simply updating the map regularly. 

Unable to Pinpoint

Another issue most users encounter with the GPS is its inability to pinpoint the exact direction. This is usually the case when the GPS is turned on for the first time. Although most systems are able to bypass this problem, allowing the program to buffer while the car is still will help the program locate your location.  Also, forcing the GPS to reroute to the place you wanted to go will do the trick too. 

Buttons Stuck

There are times when the buttons of a car DVD player suddenly stop working and this is usually the issue with touch screens. Although you can have this fixed, being extra careful when working on the buttons is the best way to avoid this. Avoiding excessive heat or coldness can also prevent damaging the sensors. 

Unable to Sense Elevation

The car DVD player with GPS is designed to locate the exact location however it won’t be able to detect when it passes over or goes under another road. There may not be a real fix for this but you can use a typical map, Google Map or MapQuest instead.
